To supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned terminal within the framework of the company’s operating policies as outlined in the operations manual. These duties include general supervision of operations, maintenance, safety and personnel, sales, accounting and purchasing. Although the terminal manager’s duties will periodically vary the basic job will be one of management and decision-making.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for all personnel and property, including equipment at the terminal and will see that all company property is properly used and maintained and that all terminal personnel do their assigned jobs in the proper manner.
Direct the company’s safety program including monthly safety meetings.
Maintain a high service level and a high level of customer relations. This includes building relationships with all internal and external customers as well local loading facilities.
Supervise the company’s preventative maintenance program. Maintenance is a function of Operations and will be managed by Operations. The management of EMS is an imperative function of this position.
Constantly evaluate every aspect of the total terminal operation and plan for specific short range and long range goals leading toward the most efficient terminal operation possible.


The terminal manager will implement and carry out to the fullest extent the decisions, policies, procedures and directives of top management.
All such decisions will be carried out as if they were their own decisions.
When policies and procedures are being developed, the opinion of each terminal manager will be welcomed. But once a decision is made it will be implemented by terminal managers.
Assure that all repair orders and purchase requisitions are complete and mailed to the corporate office as needed.
Assure that all drivers’ hours of service are accounted for and accumulated, and that no driver will be dispatched which will result in an hours of service violation.
Assure that the payroll is complete and emailed to the corporate office no later than Tuesday of each week.
Assure that all delivery tickets are complete, checked, scanned, and uploaded to the Corporate Office daily.
Contact the traffic department on all rate and route requests.
Coordinate customer requests and customer calls with the marketing department.
