We are currently seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for our client in the Columbia, SC area.  The company we are recruiting of is a leader in their industry and families all over the US use this companies products on a daily basis in their homes. This individual we are looking for will be very proficient with advanced controls and automation systems.

Job Description for the Senior Controls Engineer:

•         Determine the application of Control and Automation technology for capital equipment projects.

•         Design control and automations systems to improve production and to improve safety.

•         Manage controls for capital equipment projects: including specification development, supplier selection, technical reviews, installation and qualification of equipment.

•         Communicate with the plants, project teams, system integrators, and internal clients.

•         Develop PLC and HMI programs.

•         Observe safety & security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions.

•         Mentor and grow more junior members of the team and add manufacturing knowledge.

Job Requirements for the Senior Controls Engineer:

•         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands on experience in technical/manufacturing disciplines.

•         Experience managing capital equipment projects: specification development, supplier selection, technical reviews, installation and qualification of equipment.

•         Experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment

•         7+ years’ hands on controls engineering experience with electrical, automated manufacturing equipment, stamping presses, and fabrication equipment.

•         Experience in designing and operation of multiple axis automation equipment and/or robots is a plus

•         Knowledge of controls software (PROFICY, SIMATIC, RSLOGIX/STUDIOLOGIC), ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks.

•         Proficient in MS Scheduler (or equivalent) and AutoCAD

20-30% travel
