Job Description

Our client is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager! In this role, you would manage the Environmental, Health, and Safety functions to enable general and functional management to meet the client’s environmental management policy.  This recently acquired plant operates under legacy systems.  This role works in conjunction with the very strong corporate EHS Director to migrate current EHS programs to meet new and higher EHS standards and policies.  Change management and disciplined EHS experience is needed.

Responsibilities for the Safety Manager include:

  • Manage individual contributors responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs, processes and policies to safeguard employees, the general public and to ensure compliance with governmental regulations
  • Manages execution of processes
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of non-exempt and/or hourly employees
  • Sets priorities for the team and coordinate work activities with other supervisors
  • Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plans
  • Immediate/ direct supervision to unit or group of employees
  • May supervise the activities of a group or team of shop employees involved in mechanical, cleaning, painting, blasting, material handling or other work process in order to meet company quality and safety standards and schedules
  • Focuses on assignment of work, scheduling of work, monitoring of work as it is being done, reviewing results for timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness


    Job Requirements

    Qualifications for the Safety Manager:

    • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience
    • Fabrication experience
    • Welding experience
    • Assembly experience
    • Paint/coating experience
    • 75% safety; 25% environmental
