Job Description

Our client, based out of northern California in Yolo County, produces a wide range of rice based functional ingredients for the food and nutraceutical industry.  Their branded ingredients have been specially developed for use in bakery, meat, dairy, condiments and sauces, and beverage applications. They are also used in non-food applications such as cosmetics and capsules.

We are seeking a hands on Group Engineering Manager, with 5 to 10 years of Engineering/Maintenance experience in a “food' manufacturing environment along with well-developed project management skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong management experience including familiarity with multi-site operations.  Do you exude professionalism and have had success working with contractors, vendors and other service providers?  This is an essential requirement.

The Group Engineering Manager will have 2 director reports, a Senior Engineer and Jr. Engineer and will report to the Vice President of Operations.  The partnership with the VP of Operations is highly collaborative.

Consequently, we are seeking someone who has the capability and experience to conceptualize, design/develop and implement a wide range of capex projects. Degree-qualified, experienced Mechanical, Process (or similar) Engineers who have had exposure to Food Manufacturing environments and who are looking for a new career challenge are encouraged to apply. Working closely with the Site Management Teams, Contractors and other interested parties (Health & Safety, Food Safety, etc), the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in the development and implementation of each project, leading the project from initial design and justification through to implementation and completion. The incumbent, who will be based in Woodland, CA, will also be expected to contribute to the Continuous Improvement (CI) agenda cross the business, helping to identify and address CI opportunities.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or similar)
  • Management of engineering team experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Experienced Mechanical, Process (or similar) Engineers with food manufacturing, multi-site experience
  • Effective, clear and persuasive communicator
  • Professional demeanor and is detail oriented
  • An eye for continuous improvement
