Our beef processing client has a strong reputation and is poised to grow stronger.  Business is great, employment is way up, and finding more good people has been tough.  Unemployment rate is at a low 2.7%!  There is not enough local talent left to fill important roles in this Midwest location of south central South Dakota.

They are seeking a Fabrication Manager.  Ideally, the candidate we are seeking will have 5 years minimum of relevant experience with BEEF CUTS (only) in production/fabrication processing.

South Dakota offers multiple opportunities for outdoor recreation such as lakes, hiking trails, golf courses and of course winter skating rinks.  Cost of living is 5.3% lower than the US average and there are no state income taxes! 

The Fabrication Manager will be someone who can bring an immediate impact to the fab floor.  This person should be a team player, a leader by example, thrives in a busy manufacturing environment, possibly degreed and an effective communicator.


  • Promotes a safe working environment following company, state and federal safety policies, regulations and laws.
  • Coordinates, manages and monitors the productivity of the supervisors within the Fabrication department.
  • Ensures that all production operation targets are reached and higher quality products are delivered on time and controls inventory.
  • Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams and develops an effective production team.
  • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals for all departments for quality and customer service.
  • Ensure that department meets national and international compliance standards.
  • Implement quality improvement principles to the production process and increase employee productivity.
  • Coordinates with the quality assurance personnel to ensure acceptable standards and generates positive feedback from customers.
  • Prepares and controls operational budget plans and effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activities and operational plans.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between IT, HR, Accounts and Finance departments.
Directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and correcting employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Industry relevant experience and extensive knowledge of beef cuts in production process.
