Due to growth, our client a global leader in the development and manufacture of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic controls for off-highway applications is looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join their team of top performers. 

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for project leadership of automation equipment– typically new product lines for OEM applications, development of new manufacturing technology, and support of new product lines or major improvements of existing product lines in support of strategic objectives.  Actively supports and/or implements continuous improvement philosophies and techniques, training and development of training materials. The key to success in this position is problem solving and utilizing technical knowledge to get to the root cause of a problem rather than simply identifying symptoms. A successful Engineer is self-motivated and a natural trouble-shooter who is able to react quickly under pressure, prioritizes workload, and manages several tasks concurrently.

Job Requirements

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES        

  • Leads New Automation Equipment Acquisition and Implementation.
  • Develop and Implement New Manufacturing Processes.
  • Upgrade Material and Equipment.
  • Build Relationships with Qualified Automation Houses and Vendors
  • Demonstrate Project Management and Technical Expertise.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Position will require about 30% travel time, some of it international.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Degree in Manufacturing or Machine Design Engineering required.
  • Experience designing and building automated equipment, working in an organization that has successfully used automation in manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (lean manufacturing, six sigma, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of engineering calculations including but not limited to: kinematics, power, torque, structural, cylinders, cams, air and oil flow/pressure calculations, machine cycle time etc.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control techniques.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other functional areas such as Production, Marketing, Product Engineering, Purchasing, and Shipping/Receiving. Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility. Strong oral, written and listening communication skills.
