We are currently seeking a Advanced Controls Engineer for our client in the Columbia, SC area. The company we are recruiting of is a leader in their industry and families all over the US use this companies products on a daily basis in their homes. This individual we are looking for will be an industry expert with advanced controls and automation systems. Job Description for the Advanced Controls Engineer: • Investigate new controls and automation technologies for manufacturing processes and recommend applicable new technologies. • Manage large controls and automation projects, modernizing, upgrading, improving manufacturing capabilities, and creating a safe environment for all. • Ensuring all equipment is executed in compliance with Industry (ANSI, ISO, NFPA) and governmental health and safety (EHS) standards, and all equipment and processes are implemented the health and safety of the operators in mind. • Working with others to ensure equipment and processes support Lean Manufacturing Processes, Ergonomic Design, and Total Productive Maintenance. • Working with the design team to ensure design for manufacturing and assembly. • Leading and mentoring the junior team members as well as adding to the body of knowledge of the department.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements for the Advanced Controls Engineer: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands on experience in technical/manufacturing disciplines. • Experience managing capital equipment projects: specification development, supplier selection, technical reviews, installation, and qualification of equipment. • Experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment • 5+ years’ hands on and relevant controls engineering experience with electrical, automated manufacturing equipment, stamping presses, and fabrication equipment. • Knowledge of controls software (PROFICY, SIMATIC, RSLOGIX/STUDIOLOGIC), ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks. • Proficient in MS Scheduler (or equivalent) and AutoCAD • 20-30% travel domestically and potentially internationally
