Our client, one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers, has an immediate need for a dynamic Sr. Automation Engineer to join their team due to growth.

As the Senior Automation Engineer, you will assist in the development, implementation and support of current and future automated manufacturing systems. The Robotics, Mechatronics, and Automation engineer is accountable for the creation, development, and deployment support of the next generation technology strategy for this space.

Strong project management and PLC programming skills are required. Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servos, Sensors and AutoCAD is required.  We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Engineer who will be involved in new process and innovations.

Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to

• Design and Manage major projects such as New Machine installation upgrades, etc. The Projects range from $100K to $5M.

• Create custom automation solutions from a blank sheet of paper to a finished concept, with input from, engineering, production, maintenance and other customers.

Engineering:

• Study and apply mechatronic solutions to the transfer of material, components or finished goods.

• Experience integrating and programming Robots and Vision systems.

• Work closely with Automation Vendors and Manage External Contractors on Installations.

Project Management:

• Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure on-time delivery of projects, meeting quality standards and within budget.

• Electrical, software design for automation and safety systems. Able to maintain project scope/schedule and identify scope creep.

• Create documentation such as Training documents, Program backup, Network diagrams, Electrical drawings, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotic, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering (or related experience) & 5 + years related job experience.

• Experience with Robot programming, programming control logic for Allen-Bradley and similar PLCs

• Understanding of Sensors, Robotics, Complex Mechanical designs and various controls for automated systems.
