Job Location: Columbus, MI

The position manages plant wide quality activities under TS 16949/ISO 14001. The Quality Manager is responsible for the training and development of the Quality Department.    

Duties and responsibilities

Interacts with Management Team on daily quality issues

Manages the quality department

Management Representative for TS16949 and serves as primary contact at the plant level

Promotes a positive quality team atmosphere to all associates

Utilizes sound statistical practice to analyze information

Interacts with customer on quality issues and is the voice of the customer at the plant level

Oversees internal audit program and its effectiveness

Supports manufacturing effects to reduce scrap improvement cycle rates and improve uptime

Educate work force on defect recognition and corrective actions

Manages the corrective/preventive action system

Manages the annual layout program

Manager the gage R&R studies program

Manages PPAP activities including product development, prototype, production

Administer and follow up on corrective/preventive actions. This includes the CP database, attend, lead and scriber at CP meetings in Quality clinic, also follow up to verify effectiveness of corrective/preventive actions

Reviews customer returns and summarizes results

Plans Capital expenditures for quality department for continuous improvement

Qualifications

5+ years of management experience in manufacturing setting.

Must have prior Automotive (IATF 16949) experience

Prior Machining or Casting experience highly preferred

Strong working knowledge of basic computer software, organizational skills, confidentiality and dependability.

Excellent communication skills on all levels

CQM and CQE certifications are preferred
