Machining Manager


The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing machining abilities at the plant and providing leadership and support for each of the processes employed by the Machining department employees.  


  • Improve maximization of machining and other related equipment by reducing cycle times and increasing up-time
  • Maintain machining capabilities, dimensional control, and part specification
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices related to machine technology and maintenance
  • Responsible for the full range of managerial duties including employee development, evaluation and hiring, payroll, counseling, scheduling, performance monitoring, etc. while monitoring and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Production leadership, ensuring prompt and on time delivery of quality parts in the most efficient and safest manner on an ongoing basis.
  • Standardization of procedures to improve efficiency of area employees.
  • Analyze needs and make business case recommendations for expanding Machining department capabilities.
  • Over-see the install of equipment as it comes

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Associate’s Degree required (Would hire someone who intends to complete degree
  • Previous machining in the automotive industry highly preferred
  • Must be able to lead and develop employees
  • Detail-oriented, knowledge of shop math, machining, computers, communication, quality, safety, and team/independent working.
