RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Leadership

Establish a climate which promotes the free flow of information and ideas and which supports and encourages pride, initiative and employee engagement in problem solving and continuous improvement.

Promote organizational culture of continuous improvement by championing the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Promotes organization by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices and fair treatment of all employees, customers and vendors.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies

Administration

Plans, develops and implements plant policies and goals in concert with Corporate policies, strategic plan and philosophies.

Establish and enforce departmental decision-making boundaries.

Effectively use policy deployment to ensure alignment of department goals and activities with organizational goals.

Participates, supports and assists in coordinating activities of departments to include, manufacturing, engineering, scheduling, purchasing, human resources, transportation, shipping, quality control and sales to effect operational efficiency and economy.

Develops and monitors operating budgets and approves expenditures for supplies, materials, and capital purchases ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.

Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plant.

Communicates operational achievements and issues to the appropriate corporate entities.

Confers with management team and reviews activity, operating and sales reports to determine changes in programs and operations required.

Drive performance against operational metrics and continuous improvement on EHS&S, quality, delivery, and cost.

Talent Management

Increase management’s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers; communicating objectives; assigning accountabilities; appraising job results; developing incentives.

Effectively develop and utilize all people resources through talent management & talent development processes.

Build an effective team to ensure timely resolution of production or processing problems and coach and review performance of direct reports.

Customer Service

Develop and encourage customer centric philosophy.

Develop strategic plan for the plant to meet customer demand.

Quality

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing plant and organization standards.

EDUCATION:  

Bachelor’s degree required with equivalent additional technical related experience. 

MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 

10 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with continually increasing levels of responsibility and a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing/plant operations leadership role.

Lean-Six Sigma methodology and tools training is required; (Black Belt or Green Belt certification is preferred); must be able to demonstrate the use of process improvement techniques & tools in a variety of successful manufacturing or production operations related projects.

Direct experience in supervising people and leading teams is required.
